After drinks & canapes the guests sat down for a Barbeque wedding breakfast.

The tables were named after famous people with moustaches and the guests found their own stick on moustache attached to their Blackpool rock!

Evening guests were invited to join the party in time for cakes & speeches. Friends & family had been busy baking and creating some fabulous cakes for the dessert – yum!

Then it was time to dance, after Joanna & Duncan’s first dance (Morrissey, This Charming Man)  they took to the decks.  Duncan is a bit of a DJ and both he & Joanna did the first set. I can honestly say that I have never seen this before – I love these photos!!

After their set had ended, their friends stepped up to take the next sets – it was a night when the dance floor was never empty.

Guests were treated to a supper of bacon bagels (brought up that morning from Brick Lane in London by a friend)

but it doesn’t end here

coming soon……. I met Joanna & Duncan the next morning down on the beach for a photo shoot (in their wedding clothes)

Joanna’s grandmother used to live in a cottage next to the church, the cottage still remains in the family as well as a piece of marshland opposite the cottage, over the village green. This land is reclaimed from the sea and was given to the owners of the cottages next to the church. It was here that the reception was held in a pretty marquee with wonderful views.

After photos at the church Joanna, Duncan & I went over to Well Cottage  (her Grandmother’s cottage) for photos in the garden, with a spectacular garden view of the church.

Joanna & Duncan’s wedding ceremony was held at the local church of St Margaret’s, Cley

St Margaret’s is a stunning church, the largest church in the Glaven Valley. In medieval times Cley was a thriving port and the  harbour was in front of the church.  When the plague stuck a  local landowner unlawfully attempted land reclaimation causing the the river to gradually silt up and now the sea is about a mile away from Cley.

It was hard to imagine that where we were standing used to be the sea!

Jo was given away by Tristan, a very good friend of her’s & Duncan’s.

The vicar was lovely & extremely accommodating even actively encouraging the throwing of confetti. He grabbed a handful himself 🙂

Joanna & Duncan were married on 15th May in the lovely little village of Cley next the Sea in North Norfolk.

I was the photographer at Duncan’s sisters wedding in 2008, when Rachel & Richard were married in Poulton-le-Fylde and I was very priviledged when Jo & Duncan chose me to be their photographer too.

The setting was beautiful, the weather glorious and the wedding full of fun, friends, family & fabulous cakes!

I took so many wonderful photos I have decided to divide them into a few posts 🙂

PART ONE

Joanna & her friends rented out a cottage for the long weekend. Loke House was situated, surprisingly, down a ‘loke’ – a Norfolk alley.

It was a lovely little cottage with a beautiful garden and wonderful lighting.

Sandra & Mark were married on Friday 7th May at St John the Evangelist Church in Poulton-le-Fylde & held their reception at Salmesbury Hall.

It turned out to be a lovely sunny day – if a bit blowy & opportunity was taken to get a photo of the couple at the church with Blackpool Tower in the background.

The Tudor building of Salmesbury Hall was a stunning backdrop for the photo’s as well as the lovely grounds, complete with bluebells.

Sarah & Kevin were married on Sunday 1st May at St Peter & St Paul Church in Crosby. After a lovely ceremony the couple and their guests headed off to the newly built Hilton Hotel in Liverpool.

The hotel has the advantage of being situated opposite the Albert Docks, so a trip over their for some photos was to good an opportunity to miss.

Back at the hotel guests were tucking in to some delicious canapes and being priviledge to be guests at the very first wedding to be held at the Liverpool Hilton.

Tina & Kevin were married on 1st May at St John the Willows in Kirkham. After a dodgy forecast, the weather turned out to be perfect, which meant lots of photos in the lovely church garden, before heading to Bartle Hall for the wedding reception.

The bridemaids were ‘pretty in pink’ with peonie & roses bouquets and the flower girls looked very cute in their dresses. Not to be outdone the pageboy had a suit to match the ushers.

Tina’s uncle owns a Broughton Wedding Cars, what a great uncle to have 🙂 so the couple & their bridesmaids traveled in style.
