Here are a few images to whet your appetite from Lindsay & Neil’s wedding last week at Bartle Hall.

The rest of the images will be available online when the lovely couple return from their honeymoon.

Check back for updates.

Dominic & Emma chose to get married at Woolfen Mill, in Chipping which has been converted into self catering apartments.  I used to know the people who owned Woolfen Mill many years ago & it was interesting to return and to see how it has been created into a wonderful holiday retreat. I highly recommend!

With just 22 guests (including 8 children) this was truly an intimate affair, and although it was a bit of damp day we managed to get some photos outside by the mill pond.

Emily contacted me a couple of months ago to enquire if I was available to do her wedding photography on September 11th – it was my only free Saturday that month & I was delighted to say ‘yes’!

So off I set on Saturday to the western Cumbrian Dales – what a stunning place to have a wedding!!

I met Emily & her bridemaids at her mother’s house in nearby Sedburgh before heading off to the little Weslyan Chapel in the village of Dent where the ceremony was to be held.  Emily was baptised in this chapel & her parents used to own the Stone Close coffee shop nearby.

This was the first wedding in 29 years at the chapel! – so this was a big occasion for the villagers 🙂 The chapel was spruced up for the wedding – Emily & Kris spent some weekends coming over from their home in Manchester to help paint & tidy the chapel – that’s dedication!

The weather was holding out until the point that Emily & Kris emerged from the church, after throwing coins to the waiting children so that the gates would be unlocked (a local treadition) the heavens opened!! Everyone rushed back inside the chapel – except me I was stuck outside the locked gates! Kris grabbed my cameras for me and took them inside – I grabbed an umbrella!

We managed a confetti shot in between downpours – Emily & Kris ran to the car & headed to the Memorial Hall for the reception. I walked/ran to the Memorial Hall – it was only about 20 yards away – I can honestly say that I have never got so wet in such a short distance! My trousers were wet up to my knees!

However, the weather definitely did not dampen the spirits & after some time we were able to head off round Dent & take some lovely images. We even managed to get all the guests out for a group photo.

Thank you Emily & Kris for being such good sports & not letting the weather spoil your day 🙂

I had the wonderful privilege to photograph my cousin Ben’s wedding last Tuesday.

Ben met the beautiful Naiah whilst he was spending some time working (& snowboarding) over in Canada. They met, they fell in love and the rest is, as they say, history.

Ben & Naiah decided to have a small intimate ceremony with a handful of friends & family in England, but are heading off to Brazil at the end of September for another wedding with Naiah’s family and friends, yes… Naiah is Brazilian 🙂

The venue for the English wedding was the Swiss Cottage, a tiny little cottage which seats 20, in the stunning Swiss Garden at Shuttleworth near  Old Warden in Bedfordshire.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed a cream tea with pimms or elderflower champagne & were able to wander around the gardens. Thank goodness for a truly beautiful summer’s afternoon!

The gardens were a wonderful backdrop to create some lovely images for Ben & Naiah. Naiah was a stunning bride & a joy to photography, I think she looked like a 1930’s film star. Of course, Ben looked handsome too…. 😉

We spent the evening in the Kings Arms, Cardington for speeches , champagne & a bite to eat.

There’s talk of a samba party next year….can’t wait 🙂
